Episode 382: Money Series: Why I Fired My Husbands Accountant and Found Dawn Patton

Sometimes you know immediately that a professional relationship simply isn’t going to work. That was the case with me and my husband’s accountant. This man had been doing accounting work for my husband’s family for years and when we first got married, Craig and I decided to stay with him. Needless to say, that’s no longer the case!

The relationship got off to a bad start from the beginning. This man never treated me the same as he did Craig despite the fact that I was the breadwinner in our household. Add in the fact that he refused to do business through email? Deal breaker!

Here’s the thing, you deserve to work with people who are doing the full-assed job. This goes for anyone that you’ve hired no matter their role. When I realized that not only was he disrespecting me and my intelligence but he also operated his practice in a way that completely undermined my entire mission. I decided it was time.

I now have an amazing accountant who understands the online business world, understands what coaches do, and isn’t afraid to do business through email. Needless to say, I am much happier with this relationship.
